Tempat is an app for foodies to see restaurant information, menu, and reviews. Currently we are available only at Jakarta, Indonesia.

Prior to 2021, there is a famous app called Zomato in indonesia where they provide a restaurant guide & review platform but they left the market after the pandemic.
People use social media such as TikTok, Instagram, and Google Maps to find new places.
I interview 5 people consist of my coworker and friends to understand how they find new restaurant in Jakarta, Indonesia. Also, I did a competitor benchmark on this particular problem space.
This is what the list looks like
I was quite amazed by how creative people save their restaurant lists.They save the places by like/bookmark, one of them even made a notes contains 100++ list of restaurant name in each region of Jakarta. Also, I found 5 other competitor doing the restaurant guide/review platform but none of my research participant ever use it.
During this ideation phase, I realized I hit a roadblock during ideating in figma due to the lack of keyboard typing, I couldn't simulate the search & discovery flow which is the most important feature on this type of app.
So I built a fully functional prototype with Webflow to get the feel & experience of how the platform could look like. I also did several design exploration below!

We launched on November 2023 and right now we have several features on the platform including: Restaurant Recommendations, Find Restaurants, View Menus & Other Details, Read and Write Reviews, Save Favorite Restaurants. We have a collection of more than 100++ restaurants in Jakarta along with their menus, and we will continue to add hundreds more.
